Listen to excerpts:
Mozart's Divertimenti contain some of the most charming, beautiful, and intimate music Mozart ever composed. In addition to the five Divertimenti, K.229 (439b), this transcription includes the Divertimento based on themes from The Marriage of Figaro. This transcription for two clarinets and extended-range bass clarinet gives the clarinetist the opportunity to experience the music of Mozart as close to the way he heard it as probably could be achieved on modern instruments.
The transcriptions are completely faithful to the original, and afford the player and the audience a real view into the period. They are great fun to play, and we hope you enjoy them! A complete recording of the works is also included with the sheet music.
In February 2015, Alea is pleased to announce the release of the 2nd Edition; the Divertimenti was one of our earliest publications, originally released in 2001.
